Our Story

In 1977, recognizing a need for high-end fixtures, Hub and Morgan Nelson began Bishop in their three-car garage in St. Paul, Minnesota. The brothers got their start hand crafting fixtures for local Dayton’s and Target stores. As these and other relationships blossomed, Bishop began to make a name for itself in the premier fixture arena. Since then referrals have been the lifeblood of Bishop Fixture + Millwork, Inc.

“We never employed a sales team, but rather we invested heavily in our domestic capabilities and trusted in our product to speak for itself. We are proud of this fact, we feel it represents Bishop’s strong character and skill. It is an honor to continue improving and competing amongst the leading fixture manufacturers during such a competitive and marketing driven age.” - Hub & Morgan Nelson, Co-Founders

Today Bishop resides in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, near the Minnesota border, and employs up to 400 skilled craftsmen. Bishop has also been awarded Target’s Fixture Vendor of the year four times and become an A.R.E. Top 100 Fixture and Design company. As the company continues to develop, so does its passion and expertise for manufacturing beautiful fixtures.

The second ideology applies to our core business. We manage each project with the goal of Maximizing value for our customer. The methodology is this:
